I should update this old inquiry... I now have sufficient census data to prove that Elizabeth R. Haviland is the mother of Willis, and that she is the daughter of David Jay Haviland & Ann Elizabeth Button. Further, we've managed to figure out that Willis Haviland Carrier was named after Willis Hoag Haviland, who was his first cousin thrice removed, and the half grandnephew of Willis Haviland's wife / cousin Hannah Wing Haviland.

CARRIERE, Andrea Picard
CARRIERE, Andrea Picard June 15, 1915 - October 13, 2009 After a brief
illness, Andrea passed away on October 13, in much the same way as she had
lived - with quiet determination. She lives on in the hearts and minds of
her daughters Monique Carriere (Ray Doucette) and Michelle (Jackson Hibler),
and her grandchildren Justine Callahan (Todd Pike), Jean-Luc Callahan, and
Nicolas Hibler. Her memory will be kept alive in her great-grandchildren,
Martin and Estelle Pike, and Izabella Card. Andrea will be greatly missed by
her brother Jean-Paul Picard of Sudbury, by her sister and brother-in-law
Claudette and Al Wingell of Toronto, and by numerous nieces and nephews,
grand-nieces and grand-nephews. For many decades a first grade and
kindergarten teacher with the Conseil des Ecoles Separees d'Ottawa, she
helped nurture the creative spirit of hundreds of children. Friends will
remember her unbounded curiosity and love of gardening, travel, and good
company. Artist, musician, formidable bridge player, champion bowler,
staunch defender of the French language, independent bright spirit - Andrea
was all of these and more. Friends may pay their respects at Kelly Funeral
Home, 1255 Walkley Road, on Thursday, October 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Thomas Aquinas
Church, 1244 Kilborn Avenue at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, her family would
appreciate donations to the Hospice at May Court, the Ottawa Humane Society,
or a charity of your choice.

Does anyone have any info on her?

Wilcox on 01 Mar 1837 likely in Floyd, Oneida, NY. She died 27 Nov 1897 in
Glenwood, Schuyler, MO.
