Erin,
Don't worry about clogging the list, that's what it's here for. And it's
been too quiet for to long.
Thomas seems to have been one of the first documented Carriers here,
Martha's family had already been in Mass. for several years prior.
They have thousands of descendants. A John Carrier came to Virginia in the
mid 1700's and has a lot of descendants.
Additionally, there have been many French Canadian Carriers who migrated
into the northern border states.
Im sure there were more who migrated from England, France Belgium and even
Italy with the Carrier surname.

I suppose it IS possible that the person at the CIA is somehow related and researching his/her own genealogy? The ultimate irony -- Martha gets hanged as a witch and her descendant works for the CIA.

Hi Bud,
No, didn't catch that Roadshow. My wife usually watches it but I get upset
when I see the $$$ people get for stuff we've thrown away in the past.
Regarding how did I know it was the CIA? My Carrier homepage has a tracker
on it so I can see who visited and when. It shows a lot of info (internet
provider name & address, country your in, what browser & operating system
your using) etc. Guess thats how they catch all those online predators.
It's amazing as to where people are located and looking at your website, I
got hit from a country i've only seen mentioned in Doonsberry, didn't know
it existed.

So either someone was slacking off, or they are really interested in one of us.

CIA = Carriers Interested in Ancestry?

Someone at the CIA googled "Martha, Carrier, Descendants" today and hit my
website.
Wonder of they're chasing old Thomas down for his alleged misdeeds in the
old country?
And upon further research, my grandfather was born within 2 years of this person, in the same place. Their families were living there 3 wards apart in the 1920 census. Me thinks there is a relation there, even though this person's family was listed as French Canadian. Hmmm
