Thanks so much for your reply to my post about William Carrico of Prince William Co Va. I
have just recently started to do research on the Carrico family, and I appreciate any
information you may have. I realize without actually looking at a birth record listing
William as John W Carico's father, there is most times a bit of speculation when it
comes to records this old, but the bottom line is to find the correct lineage. To me this
is what it's all about. I believe that there were several John W Carrico's around
during this time frame. Some show up in Grayson Co Va, which is not particularly close to
Prince William Co, or Fauquier Co. PWC and Fauquier are adjoining counties, and it seems
the John W I am researching as my GG grandfather did move back and forth between these
counties, probably due to economic reasons. He is listed as a tenant on the census
records, so he did not have to sell any land to move, he just relocated. I make the
assumption that because John W was i!
n PWC in the 1850 census, and William who was born in 1782 and was also listed in the
1850 census with several children, I noticed a 6 year gap in the ages of the children (
between William jr and Lucy ) living with William in 1850. The right age for the John W
born in 1827. But I will continue to research until hopefully I find the correct father to
our John W. Thanks again for the info.
