All,
I just thought I let everyone know a major discovery (at least for me) that I've made
the past few
days.
In the Rev. pension record for Lawrence Simpson & for his widow Sarah, it is indicated
that her
"maiden' name was Carrico & that they married before Jan. 1800. According to
depositions made that
can be found in the pension file, Lawrence died Feb. 2, 1843 *& Sarah died Aug. 13,
1853. Thomas
Carrico stated that he constructed the coffins for both Lawrence & Sarah. John Carrico
age 82 in
1853 indicated that he had known them as husband & wife for 59 years.
Recently tombstone pics were uploaded to Find A Grave which included one for a Sarah
mother of
Thomas who died Aug. 13, 1858 aged 91 years.

The year appears that it could be 1853, not 1858.
Today at my local FHL they had the following micro fiche on permanent loan:
CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND, TOMB-STONE & BIBLE RECORDS
Collected and compiled by a Committee of the
Martha Washington Chapter
District of Columbia Daughters of the American Revolution
Washington, D. C.
1940
FHL US/CAN Fiche [6047990]
I've transcribed the Carrico entries here:

This entry for Sarah, mother of Thomas, states that she died in 1853, not 1858!
Thomas Carrico, by his tombstone was born ca 1793. It appears that Sarah, who may have
been a
Carrico by birth (heah, James of Peter married a Carrico too), or she may have just been a
widowed
Carrico when she married John Lawrence Simpson.
Feed back, discussion always welcome. I can't figure these guys out on my own &
I'm also subject to
errors in my line of reasoning.
