Not that this will prove anything, but it would be interesting to hear from
everyone as to what was passed down through word of mouth over the generations
about the Carrico origins.
My only recollection comes from my childhood. My mother told me that someone
in my father's ancestry was of Spanish origin. My father's reaction was to
shrug his sholders, indicating he didn't know anything further about it. I did
not discover the Carrico surname (my paternal great grandmother's maiden name)
until after my father's death and never had a chance to ask questions. But I
think there is some worth in looking at the oral family history passed down
from generation to generation. While this will not unequivocally prove
ethnicity, it could point in a direction to explore more thoroughly.
