Now to my Richard F. and John V. Carrico confusion:
"I have Richard F Carrico as s/o John Vincent Carrico (b 1814 d Jan 24, 1892) and
Susan ??; John Vincent as s/o Vincent Carrico and Mary Elder.
I have John Vincent marr to Susan Wethington as being b c 1805 s/o John Alexander Carrico
and Mary Sedgewick.
Can anyone set me straight on these guys?"
Kay,
I don't have many details on the descendants of Vincent Carrico & Mary Elder, but
as a descendant of Alexander Carrico & Mary Sedgwick, I have tried to look closer at
their offspring.
In 1850 John Carrico age 45 b. MD is residing in Casey Co., KY with wife Susan age 42 b.
KY. One of the children listed in this family is Richard F. Carrico age 13 b. KY.
John's parents, Alexander AKA John A. Carrico & Mary (Sedgwick) Carrico are by
1850 residing in Martin Co., IN with several married & unmarried children in their
household or as neighbors.
Before the 1860 census Susan has died & John has also moved to Martin Co., IN where he
is listed as age 56 b. MD with his 2 youngest sons still residing with him.
Richard F. Carrico married Eliza E. Clements April 28, 1857 in Martin Co., IN & is
found in the 1860 census there as Richard Carico age 23 b. KY, wife Eliza E. age 23 b. IN
& son John F. age 1/12. They are residing 2 doors fro Basil Clements & wife
Celia.
By 1870 Richard & his family have moved to Cumberland Co., IL. On the 1880 & 1900
census' it states both parents were born in MD; 1910 & 1920 that his father was
born in MD, but mother b. in KY.
I have nover seen that Alexander Carrico & Mary Sedgwick's son John had the middle
name of Vincent. There is however a Joseph V. Carrico in Martin Co., IN which I have been
confused & unable to determine if this was John Carrico & Susan Wethington's
son Joseph.
I haven't looked at this information in awhile, will need to recheck my notes.
Please let me know if I am in error on Richard F. Carrico.
Thanks,
Linda Boorom
