A Civil War buff gave me the following information on
a William Carrico from Prince William County, VA:
William Carrico
39th Battalion
Virginia Calvary
Company "A"
Prince William County, VA.
I had not heard of this individual before, but any
info would be very interesting.
Some internet searching did not reveal any good
source.
I'll be searching more in my next available time.
Regards to all,
Pete Carrico
Annapolis, MD

I'm still as puzzled as you about the Frederick
inventory. One thing I have read, or maybe surmised,
is that makers of wills then as now attempted to
conceal as much as possible from the prying eyes of
tax collectors. Estimates of the value of estates I
would take with a certain amount of skeptism. On the
other hand, those tools and implements listed in the
inventory may have been worth a great deal in those
days due to short supplies of steal and iron. Sounds
a bit like flea market stuff today but in 1765 it
must have been worth noting in the will. Could it be
that Peter II owned or leased land in Frederick Co.
and it had been overlooked until now?

OK, I just got to the end of transcribing the
Inventory of Peter Carrio's
Estate
http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~boorom/carrico/mdwill1764carricopet...
John with Thomas Ignatius signed the Inventory as
"Kindred". So, still not
sure what to make of the things sent from Frederick
Co......
