Linda, et al,
I have a close friend who spent over fifty years in French speaking countries as a
missionary. Is the document in question available in PDF form? Perhaps he could add some
light to the question.
John

I've made another attempt to translate this burial record. A few months ago I thought
the word
"decede" translated to "ten days", don't know where I got that
from, but it seems to actually mean
deceased or died (duh!) Anyway, this is far from perfect, so if anyone knows of
corrections I should
make, this is what I came up with this morning using some online "translators"
John,
At this point, I only have the document in jpg., what appears as the original from the
record book,
and the 2nd a typewritten copy from the same book. I've both online which I scaled
down for the web,
but also have larger versions of both which I can send. I may adjust for
"appearance'" on the web.
but always try to keep the original as well.
This is the only record that I've found of the Florissant records that has a type
written copy in
addition to the original, which may make it easier to transcribe than the others. There
are quite a
few other records in this database, primarily children of Peter of James who died ca 1799
Charles
Co., MD and their descendants. Help translating at least some of the French would help me
get some
of the information online.
If your friend would be willing to help with translations, that would be wonderful. Even
if only a
few? Let me know what to send?
Linda
