I and three of my first cousins have been FF tested at FTDNA. We are all the
same distance from our CARRICO ancestor through the same grandmother.
Two are brothers and both are 100% Western and Central European.
One has this breakdown:
Southern European 32%
British Isles 29%
Western and Central Europe 15%
Eastern Europe 6%
Asia Minor 11%
Ashkenazi Diaspora 6%
My ethnicity breaks down as:
Western and Central 34%
Scandinavia 31%
British Isles 27%
Finland and Northern Siberia 3%
Eastern Middle East 3%
Central Asian 2%
I think it's safe to assume my Scandinavian/Finish ancestry came from my
paternal grandfather, son of Danish immigrants who immigrated in the 1880s.
It's probably also safe to assume my cousin with the Southern European ancestry
got that ethnicity from her paternal grandfather, who was an Italian immigrant
in 1910. The reason these ethnicities are strikingly obvious is that the
"full-blooded" ancestor is only two generations back. It's tempting to
assert
that my Middle Eastern bit and/or my cousin's Asia Minor/Ashkenazi bit could be
Peter, except why are all four of us different in that regard?
The answer is Peter CARRICO is about ten generations back for most of us. At
ten generations back, you have only a fraction of 1% of Peter's genes, if any.
It's doubtful any of us are picking any noticeable ethnicity from Peter. The
place we are detecting Peter is in the male Y-chromosome of his patrilineal line
male descendants.
I will here admit that I am remiss in not pouncing on and analyzing the BigY
test results from two of our project members (see bright red cells) when they
first returned:

These results may lead us to our origin, and I promise to try to get this done,
but that doesn't mean quickly because I still haven't learned how to do it. If
the participants want to have this analysis done for us, they can join YFull:

Subject: [CARRICO] DNA
My DNA from Ancestry shows Italy/Greece 3%, Iberian Peninsula 3%, and
European Jewish 2%.
I believe European Jewish is from my mother's side (100 % German). My
Carricos are on my father's side. The Italy/Greece and Iberian Peninsula
follows what some say about the Carricos.
