Margaret Ann Higdon, 79, of Knottsville, Ky., died Tuesday, July 28, 2015,
at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, McGuire A. Carrico and Leona Huff
Carrico; her husband, Gene Higdon; a son, James Eugene in infancy; a sister,
Elizabeth Jane in infancy; and a brother, Leslie Carrico.
She retired from The Bishop Soenneker Home after over 30 years of service.
Survivors include a son, Billy Higdon, of Knottsville; a daughter, Jane
(Donnie) Goodman, of Fordsville; a stepmother, Artie Carrico, of Owensboro;
a brother, Wayne (Martha) Carrico, of Owensboro; sisters, Sandra (Lawrence)
Wathen, of Owensboro, Joyce (Tony) Hare, of Tell City, and Nancy (Buddy)
Estes, of Muhlenberg County; four grandsons; four granddaughters; 17
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Cecil Funeral Home in
Whitesville, Ky., and at 9 a.m. on Friday at St. William Catholic Church in
Knottsville. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Private burial will be at a later date in St. William Cemetery in
Knottsville. Prayers will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

McGuire "Mac" Alexander Carrico, 86, of 718 Isaac Shelby Drive, Owensboro,
formerly of Knottsville, died Monday, June 18, 2001 at Hermitage Nursing &
Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro. He was born August 8, 1914 in Daviess
County, Kentucky, the son of the late Joseph Ligouri and Nora Elizabeth
Carrico. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leona Carrico, in
1994; a daughter, Elizabeth Jane Carrico, in 1941 and three grandchildren.
Mr. Carrico retired from the maintenance department of General Electric Co.
and was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Pius X Catholic
Church. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post
9 and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Artie Lee Carrico; two sons, Joseph
Wayne Carrico of Owensboro and William Leslie Carrico of Knottsville; four
daughters, Mary Joyce Hare of Tell City, Ind., Margaret Ann Higdon of
Knottsville, Sandra Marie Wathen of Owensboro and Nancy Louis Estes of
Maceo; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six
step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 21, 2001 at St. Pius X
Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Meredith. Burial will follow
in St. William Catholic Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends at
Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 20, 2001
and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Prayers will be said at 4:30
p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Joseph Ligouri Carrico was born on 16 Mar 1881 in Knottsville, Daviess
County, Kentucky to Silas A. Carrico and Mitilda J. Head. He was married to
Nora Elizabeth Haynes about 1907. He died on 2 Apr 1961 in Daviess County,
Kentucky. Nora was born on 16 Apr 1883 in Kentucky, the daughter of James
and Mary Haynes, and died on 15 Nov 1970 in Daviess County, Kentucky.
Silas Alexander Carrico was born on 24 Dec 1850 in Probably Casey County,
Kentucky. He was the son of James Alexander Carrico and Mary J. Weathington.
He was married to Matilda Jane Head on 10 Feb 1878 in Daviess County,
Kentucky. Matilda was born on 11 Apr 1857 in Daviess County, Kentucky, the
daughter of Joseph David Head and Margaret Modesta Montgomery, and died on
24 Dec 1940 in Knottsville, Daviess County, Kentucky.
James Alexander Carrico was born about 1815 in Kentucky. He died on25 Sep
1872 in probably Neosho County, Kansas. He was married to Mary J.
Weathington, born about 1820 in Casey Creek, Adair County, Kentucky, and
died on 30 Aug 1885 in Neosho County, Kansas.
