Yes, Alfred lived with his married daughter, Bertha (CARRICO) JACKSON, in the 1900 census,
but in 1870, Bertha wasn't even born, yet.
I dug through the census pretty thoroughly, and I'm convinced the Alfred CARRICO
living with the KENDALLs and Benedict CARRICO in 1870 is the one listed next door to
Benedict CARRICO in 1880. I believe Benedict's father, James Hiram CARRICO, was
Alfred's owner, if not Alfred's father, and the KENDALLs are Benedict's
in-laws. Note that James's middle name was Hiram, and Alfred & Amanda named a
son, Hiram. It's not exactly a common given name.
As I mentioned, it's not unusual for ages to be "off" from census to census.
I do believe they're wrong for Alfred and Amanda in 1880, and I note that on their
