OBITUARY
LLOYD EVANS
PLAINVIEW--Services for Lloyd E. Evans, 96, Plainview, will be
at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church here. The
Reverand Warren Spellman will officiate with burial in Hillcrest
Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m.
Monday at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview.
He died Saturday November 19th, 1988 at Pierce Manor. He was
born June 20th, 1892 in Harrison County, Iowa, son of William and
Lilly (Killmon) Evans. He came to Batlle Creek in 1908 and on April
4th, 1914 he married Oma Clyde Carrico. They were parents of 11
children. He returned to Iowa and farmed until 1923, then moved to
a farm northwest of Norfolk. In 1940 he purchased a farm at Stark
Valley, living there until 1950 when he a farm at Weaubleau, MO,
He retired to Pilger in 1961 and moved to Plainview. Mr. Evans was
baptized in the Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons; Elbert of Foster, James of Plainview
and Harry of Ionia. Missouri, three daughters; Pearl Stuthman of
Norfolk, Elsie Pojar of Springfield, Missouri and Mrs. George
(Peggy Ann) Flesner of Plainview; 39 grandchildren, 92 great
grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, four sons, one
daughter, two grandchildren, eight brothers, and sisters.
