WILEY CARRICO
Wiley Carrico, 69, 229 Jackson Ave., died at 5:00 a.m. Thursday
after suffering a heart attack in a Norfolk hospital.
His health had not been the best since he suffered a heart attack
six years ago.
Mr. Carrico was born June 16, 1886, in Grayson County, Virginia,
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Carrico. He was 14 years old when
his parents moved to Battle Creek, where he grew to manhood.
He was married May 8, 1909 to Luella Freeman. They resided at
Battle Creek, western Nebraska and Wyoming before moving to
Norfolk in 1923. With the exception of 2 years at Genesee, Idaho,
they have since resided in Norfolk. He was baptized in the Christian
Church while in Idaho, and was a member of the Park Avenue
Christian Church here.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. L. L. Richardson
of Kearney, Mrs. Everett Kohler of Norfolk, and Mrs. Robert Nelson
of Lincoln; three sons, Joe and Frank of South Sioux City, and
Howard of Kearney; 27 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren,
one sister, Mrs. Minnie Nelson of Omaha, and one brother, George
of Van Nuys, Calif. He was preceded in death by two sons in infancy.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
