and was born 1876 in Galax, VA.

Mrs. Minnie Nelson (92), a former Battle Creek Resident
died Monday night at St. Joseph's Hospital, Omaha. She had
spent most of her life in Battle Creek and had resided in
Omaha the past few years. Funeral services are pending
with the Home for Funerals, Norfolk, in charge. Mrs. Nelson
is survived by five daughters and a number of grandchildren,
among them Lyle Hinzman of Norfolk, also nieces and nephews
in this area.

Battle Creek--Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 at
the Methodist Church here for Mrs. Minnie V. Nelson, 92,
former Battle Creek resident who died Monday night at an
Omaha hospital.
The Rev. Douglas Jones will officiate, burial will be in Union
Cemetery. The body will lie in state Thursday from 3 - 9 p.m.
at Home For Funerals in Norfolk. Mrs. Nelson was the former
Minnie Carrico, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Immanuel Carrico
and was born Feb 20, 1875 in Galax, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two
daughters, five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are five
daughters, Miss Mae Pilkins of Omaha, Mrs. Ted Hinzman of
Roseville, California, Mrs. Bob Hinzman of Rapid City, Mrs.
Walter Werner of Schaller and Mrs. Cora Major of Tulsa, OK.
28 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 3 great great
grandchildren.

Funeral services for Minnie Nelson, 92, 617 1/2 S. 16th street,
Omaha, formerly of Battle Creek, were Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the
Methodist Church in Battle Creek. Pallbearers included Robert
Fechmeister, Eugene Werner, Lyle Hinzman, Albert Nelson,
Roger A. Nelson and Carl Niemeier.
