William B. Carrico (1782-1857) marries Sarah Moore Berry in 1808. The source
for this is a family Bible. We do not know WHERE this marriage occurs. We
would like to determine that in order to find out where William B. is in 1808
and hope that will lead to a clue about who his parents are. William B.
Carrico is buried in Congressional Cemetery in Washington DC.
Does anyone have information on this marriage or information about the lineage
of Sarah Moore Berry?
I believe that the marriage took place in either Maryland or Washington DC.
William B. and Sarah Moore Berry have one child in 1809- Mary Elinor Carrico.
In 1814, William Bartholomew Carrico is in Washington DC. He fights in the
War of 1812 in Capt William Doughterty's Co- DC Militia. He is probably a
widower at this time.
In 1821 William B. Carrico marries Mary Ann Tracey Anderson at St. Peter's
Catholic Church in Washington DC. William B. Carrico and his family are
active members of St. Peter's Catholic church from its founding in 1821 until
1899. This would lead me to believe that his first marriage would also have
been in a Catholic church.
There are 10 children from the second marriage and all are born in Washington
D.C.
The children of his second marriage are Elizabeth Ann born 1823. She marries
Francis G. Edeline. Lucretia born in 1824 marries James Peake . Then there
are twin girls born in 1825- Margaret Ann and Jane Rebecca who marries James
F. Smith. William Peter born 1828, Joseph Mahlon 1829-1901, James Hiram 1832,
John Hiram 1834-1903 marries Mary Jane Knott, Sarah Amelia 1837-1917 marries
James E. Arnold and Helen E. Carrico born 1840.
If anyone has information on this first marriage of William B. or the lineage
of his first wife, Sarah Moore Berry, I would be grateful .

Alexander CARRICO, the child of John Conley CARRICO and Elizabeth
HALBERT, was born April 8, 1816, in Canaan Township, Athens, Athens
County, Ohio, and married Cassandra Margaret SMITH, September, 15, 1864,
in Macoupin County, Illinois. It is not known that he was married prior
to this or not, but it is suspected. The reason: He has a child, Mary J.
Carrico living with him in 1860 and 1865 who was born ca. 1857. She is
identified as his daughter.
After Alexander CARRICO died in 1874, his widow, Cassandra Margaret SMITH
CARRICO married Josiah G. HARLAN, on April 10, 1877, officiated at by
Rev. Levin L. HARLAN, a cousin of Josiah's. To this union was born
Cassandra Josephine HARLAN, November 16, 1879. She lived 3 months, and 4
days and died February 20, 1880, of acute bronchitis. Josiah G. HARLAN
died February 22, 1880, in Chesterfield Township, Macoupin County,
Illinois. He, as well as his father and mother were born in Kentucky.
Josiah was 42 years old and had been a resident of Macoupin County for 24
years. He died of pulmonary consumption, stated Dr. C. H. Murphy. It is
claimed that Josiah G. HARLAN was a cousin to Alexander CARRICO.
If the above paragraph means anything to you, please write. I have some
information to exchange on the CARRICO / HARLAN / SMITH line.

Dear List:
This was on another list and am pasting it to our list.
Beginning about March 1st, possibly a few days later, the LDS Church
will release a beta test of Family Search on the Internet for about a 3
week trial basis at: http://www.familysearch.org (Keep checking until
they actually have it up and running.)
They would like everyone to try it out and respond! After the short
beta testing they will take it off the Internet in order to fix any
problems.<<<
