Hello List,
Final results have returned for #176551, the CARRIÇO of Portel, Alentejo,
Portugal, including both 67 markers and a deep SNP test. As with other
CARRICOs, his haplotype is both rare and unique, so he has no significant
matches in either the FTDNA, Ysearch, or SMGF databases:

Interestingly, he is a Norse variety of Haplogroup I1d (=I-L22), specifically, a
cluster known as I1d-Norse-ultraNorse-14. I don't quite know what to make of an
I1d in Portugal. I've asked on the Y-DNA-HAPLOGROUP-I mailing list, and the
consensus seems to be that we don't know all that much about Portuguese
haplogroups.
The admin of the Iberian-I1 project:

would like to invite #176551 to join:

Looking at the results table for the Iberian I1 project, it appears #176551
would be the first I1d to join:

In keeping with project "tradition," we CARRICOs are an exclusive lot!
