I'm afraid Ancestry does not allow commercial advertising or links, so I'm not
surprised your posts were deleted. And given that Ancestry is FTDNA's direct
competitor, I'm sure they're doubly diligent in scrubbing any posts about FTDNA.
But go to Google, do a search on
CARRICO DNA
and note what turns up. What doesn't show up is your Carrico Family site:
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Carrico_Family/
For the sake of Google searches, you need to change the title (you can't change
the URL) to something with more keywords in it, for example
CARRICO Autosomal DNA (Family Finder) Project
or
CARRICO Family Finder (autosomal DNA) Project
and fill in the Background, Goals, News, Results, etc. pages with text, to give
Google some content to munch on.
One thing you can do, to give Google something to index, is add the CARRICO
lineages of members to your Results page, as I have done here with BIDDLE:
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/biddle/default.aspx?section=results
Obviously, I have stopped doing it that way in favor of having my own BiddleEtc
domain and TNG database:
http://biddleetc.org/
I would say this last is the best solution, that is, to create a site with TNG
(in addition to the FTDNA site):
http://lythgoes.net/genealogy/software.php
But the first thing to do is raise the rank of your FTDNA site at Google, and
that means increasing the volume of its content and giving Google the right key
words. Fortunately, FTDNA has a high ranking, itself, so you're several steps
up the ladder already. But without "DNA" in the title of your page, it's
not
going to get the kinds of hits you need.
And, yes, I need to give you some links on my pages. Will do as soon as I can.

Diana,
I'd love to see more of our Y-DNA testers upgrade to Family Finder. I'm
working in my mind where to
put and post to my own Carrico page, would appreciate your help in promoting.
My previous posts to
the rootsweb/ancestry Carrico boards regarding FTDNA Family Finder have been
deleteed (guess I was
promoting something I shouldn't)
Have figured out how to "open" the contribution page in my GAP Carrico Family
Project page and still
working on where I need to go from here.
