Hello List,
Final results have returned for #122177, the second tested descendant of Peter
CARRICO of Monongalia Co., VA [now Preston Co., WV]. He is a 67/67 match with
the modal haplotype for descendants of Peter CARRICO I, 1674 immigrant to
Maryland:

He does not share the mutation from 19 to 18 at DYS576 borne by the other
descendant of Peter of WV (#122176), which means this mutation had to have
occurred downstream of their closest common ancestor, their great-grandfather,
Arthur Wellington CARRICO:

I would recommend #122176 find and test a CARRICO first cousin to see if John
Oscar bore the mutation. If John Oscar is modal, he could test his father or a
brother to see whether the mutation occurred in himself or his father. It would
be nice to pinpoint the location of this mutation, just to demonstrate that it
can be done.
