Some of you may recall that #132113, the descendant of Charles CARRICO of
Sullivan Co., IN, apparently has an NPE in his lineage because he doesn't match
the CARRICOs who presumably descend from Peter CARRICO I. You may also recall
that he does have a significant match (62/67) with one other person: a
LITTLETON (#89853).
I have now been in contact with the wife of the LITTLETON, and she has kindly
shared his lineage with me, so I have added it to the results page:
http://dgmweb.net/genealogy/DNA/Carrico/CarricoDNA-results-HgR1b.shtml
I have also created a Node Chart for these two individuals, to guide us in
determining their relationship and which individuals to seek out to solve the
questions here:
http://dgmweb.net/genealogy/DNA/Carrico/NodeChart-Carrico-Littleton.shtml
I'm sad to say that, in compiling the chart, I believe we may have found the
only place these two families might have crossed paths, and that would be at the
very root of these pedigrees. Charles is alleged to have been born ca. 1772 in
Montgomery Co., MD, which is adjacent to Loudoun Co., VA, location of
Pherell/Pherill LITTLETON at about that time. Given their ages, the only
relationship apparently possible here is that Charles CARRICO is a son of
Pherrel LITTLETON.
Obviously, this is catastrophic news for anyone descended from Charles,
including #132113 and myself.
We desperatately need more cousins tested to confirm or refute this
relationship. We especially need to test a patrilineal male descendant of
Charles's brother, Josiah.
My offer to chip in $50 towards the test still stands. If you plan to do it,
please do it before 31 Dec 2008, so we can take advantage of the temporary $30
discount being offered by FTDNA on 37 and 67 marker tests. If you want to do
the minimum, a 12-marker test would at least tell us whether you are a CARRICO
or a LITTLETON. There's no discount on 12-marker tests, but the cost is only
$99, plus S&H, so I would split the cost.
