Hello Berny,
The BigY is usually $575; it's currently on sale for $525.
The only reason FTDNA would have tested off Daniel's kit would be if you ordered
the test from his member page at the FTDNA web site. If you want to test a new
person, you must order a new kit (open a new account) - do not order when logged
in to someone else's existing account or they will get the test.
For a female, you would order a new kit (new account) from FTDNA's home page:
https://www.familytreedna.com/
For a male, you would order a kit (open a new account) through the appropriate
surname project, if there is one. If there isn't one, then you would order at
the FTDNA home page (as above).
But all is not lost, here. If you and Daniel are brother and sister, with the
same biological mother, you should have the same mtDNA test result! There is no
need to mtDNA test you and your sister, unless you have some doubt that the
three of you have the same mother. Although there is a cheaper, more useful way
to find out...
At this point, the best test for you and your sister (and Daniel) to take is the
Family Finder test. This test is normally $99, but it's currently on sale for
$89. If any of you has a different mother, it should show up in an FF test,
plus you have all the other benefits of an FF test.
You would order Daniel's FF test by logging into his member page and ordering
the test there.
To order yours and your sister's tests, you would go to the FTDNA home page
(above) and order a new kit for each one of you.
Hope this helps,
Diana

orders BigY
Hi Diana
How much does the Big Y test cost? my Brother Danial Carrico and Nephew Montie
Carricp have both been tested to 111 and as you know we have a direct paper
trail to Peter 1, I am very discouraged about doing any more DNA testing
because my Sister and I decided about 2 years ago to do our maternal side and
sent in the money but I never recieved a kit to be tested, they tested off of
my brother Dan instead.
