Linda,
Yes, Permelia had three brothers and four sisters. While I have researched
her siblings I don't have any current contact with any of the descendants.
Maybe it would be worth my time to try and find some of them.
My John "Maxwell" is the son of Reason Carrico and Elizabeth Engle. It has
taken me a very long time to try and find adequate proof that Maxwell was
their son. I was always sure that he was because he named his oldest son
John Reason. Maxwell was from Sullivan County, Indiana. It has been hard
to find documentation of him there because of the courthouse fire. He
migrated west with his wife's people, the Simmons family. So he "got lost"
so to speak. My g.grandmother thought that her grandfather was Bazil
Carrico. That was enough of a clue to help me trace back through the
Carrico's to get to Bazil.
My g.g.grandmother Permelia was married 5 times, so tracing her is somewhat
of a nightmare. My g.grandmother, Nancy "Pearl", was the only child of the
second marriage.
Good to connect with you.
Jeanne

Jeanne,
Did your Permilia have any brothers that had male offspring? I am in the
same
situation, it was my grandmother who was a Carrico, but she did have 2
brothers
& there are living male offspring. I am curious as to the cost of all of
this, I
almost feel that if I should try to encourage an offspring to submit their
DNA,
I should be willing to pay for it.
I cannot yet prove my line back to Peter, I can only trace back to John
"Alexander" Carrico who married Mary Sedgwick in Montgomery Co., MD in
1800 &
died 1853-1866 in Martin Co., IN. He lived for a time in Washington then
Casey
Co., KY before removing to Indiana. There have been a lot of error's in
published documents about my Alexander as well as many of the other
Carrico's,
which seems to make it even harder for me to locate who his parents
actually
were.
I'm not sure if DNA testing would help or not.

Carrico. Permelia had 3 daughters and no sons. My lineage is full of
daughters
and not sons. The lineage comes through my g.grandmother, grandmother,
and
mother. Is there any possibility of doing DNA testing using the maternal
line?
