Diana,
I notice that the Carrico DNA test you list here:
http://dgmweb.net/genealogy/DNA/Carrico/CarricoDNA-results.shtml
lists connection back to PeterI as follows:
Pvt7, Jesse6, Charles Thomas5, George Henson6, George G.5, James T.4,
[tentative] John3, Peter2, Peter1 - 1674 immigrant to Maryland
I believe it was Homer Edwin Carrico & Maude Carrico Russell who had place James
T. Carrico whose spouse was Joanna Keith as grandson of Peter II. I'm not sure
that this is correct & believe it bears discussion.
If one is to presume the 1758 Charles County Tax Lists as posted in the Charles
Co. MD Genweb Archives is correct:
TU 10 1 Carico Peter 2
TU 2 [Carico] "one son"
TU 38 1 Carico James 1
TU 45 1 Carico John 1 "son of James"
It appears that Peter did have one other in his household that was over the age
of 16, presumably his son John. This listing also suggests that James son John
by this time was of age & prob. maintaining a household of his own, thus married
& probably at this time having children.
Per the MD Archives, James Carrico of John is listed in the Charles Co. Census
of 1778, & in Maryland Records, Volume I, Constable's Census of Charles County,
1775-1778, Page 310. Thus born 1760 or before.
I think in all likelyhood, that John Carrico, father of James, was the son of
James Carrico not Peter Carrico. First, Peter's son John was probably not much
older than 16 in 1758, thus unlikely to be married & fathering children 2 years
later, whereas John, son of James, was likely already married in 1758, thus more
likely to have fathered children by 1760.
I'd really like to have other's opinions on this. I must be missing something
since so many list James T.'s grandfather as Peter II......
Respectfully,
Linda Boorom
