Hello List,
We have all 67 markers returned for Member #88790, the CARRICO whose grandfather
was born in Portugal:
http://dgmweb.net/genealogy/DNA/Carrico/CarricoDNA-results.shtml#J2a1b1
I won't keep you in suspense... He is not a match with the three descendants of
Peter CARRICO, the 1674 immigrant to Maryland. This is a big disappointment, of
course, but it was really too much to expect that we would solve the mystery of
Peter CARRICO's origin this early and this easily.
Based on his haplotype, this individual is predicted to be Haplogroup J2a1b1
(recall that the other CARRICOs are J2a1b*). While not a tight fit with the
modal haplotype, he has a null value for DYS425, which is typical of this
subclade. His deep SNP test is pending, as is a DYF371X test, to uncover what
is going on with DYS425.
His haplotype is unique. He has no matches at any level in the FTDNA database.
He carries none of the "odd" markers of the other CARRICOs, and even his
null425
is typical of his subclade.
Your project admin recommends joining both the Y-Hap-J project and the null425
project. Each may be joined via the blue "Join" button on your member page.
There is no cost to join multiple projects.
I also recommend uploading to Ysearch. This can be accomplished with a few
clicks from the "Y-DNA Matches" tab of your member page. If you wish to
maintain your anonymity, enter "Name withheld" in the "Contact Person"
field.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.
