Bates Hill Rites For Mrs. Carrick
Mrs. Mary Tennessee Carrick wife of J.T. Carrick, well known Centertown
farmer and former member of the county court, died unexpectedly at her home
Monday afternoon at 6:45 o_ÇÖclock. She was 78. Funeral services were
conducted
yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o_ÇÖclock at Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian
Church. Rev. Frank Watson officiated and burial was in Whitlock cemetery.
Mrs. Carrick, native of Cannon County, was born October 6, 1874. She was a
daughter of Ezekeal Young and Louisa Massey Young and she was married to Mr.
Carrick May 16, 1893. She was a member of the
Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two
sons, Thomas J. Carrick and Dallas Carrick, Centertown; four daughters, Mrs.
Lee Winnard, Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Knox Carr and Mrs. Frank Simons,
McMinnville, and Mrs. Jess Hillis, Chattanooga, also one sister, Mrs. Nancy
Mitchell, McMinnville. High Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
