Subject: My End of Line and like Surnames
Hi, I have done this before, but here goes:
My great-great-grandfather was Stephen Carrick. He was supposedly born
in Ireland, place unknown, @ 1820/30, and died @ 1865-70, "at sea." He
was supposedly the captain of a ship, and went down with it. He was
married to Cecilia Beattie (also b. Ireland, place unknown) @ 1860 or
maybe earlier, supposedly in the U.S., likely in KY. (Celia supposedly
lived somewhere in KY with an Aunt ____ Sullivan after coming to the
U.S., and she and Stephen met and were married over here in the U.S.)
Stephen Carrick & Celia Beattie had 4 children; one was my great-great
grandmother, Julia Theresa Carrick. Others were Thomas J. Carrick (no
children), Stephen U. Carrick (no children), and Martin Carrick (went to
Texas, never heard from again).
By the time Celia Beattie Carrick-Gallagher met her second husband, Hugh
Gallagher, she lived in middle Tennessee. They had five children: John,
Louis, Rose, James and Mary.
I REALLY want to know ANYthing about Stephen Carrick, especially where he
might have been from in Ireland, and I would love to know the same info
about Celia Beattie Carrick-Gallagher.
Thank you, Cathy Reese ccreese(a)inet-direct.com
