No Problem. Google has started putting old books online for everyone to view and it is
free! I try and go there and search family surnames and the location they lived in. I
don't always get a hit, but sometimes I do. Another place is Heritage Quest. My
library has a subscription and I am allowed free access to HeritageQuest remotely (meaning
I can access it from the library's website at home). HeritageQuest has many census
reports, books, Persi (articles on people and places), Revolutionary War pensions and
apps, and the U.S. Serial Set. Check to see if your library has a subscription. If not,
let them know that it is a lot like Ancestry, only they allow people remote access like
Ancestry used to.
