I find that all these families tended to migrate near one another and family
lines crossed multiple times. For example, Moses (Sr.)'s brother, Samuel
Czar Carrick had a daughter named Elizabeth Moore Carrick. She married Hugh
Lawson White. His mother was Mary Lawson. So a Susan Lawson in the
neighborhood was not at all out of the question.
The wife of Moses (Jr.) was Susan Hobson Dawson. She is well documented.

It is of course within the realm of possibility that two Moses
Carricks, grandfather and grandson, were both married to women named
Susan Dawson/Lawson. However, given the huge number of genealogical
falsehoods plaguing the Internet and the frequency with which such
errors get copied without any checking in the original records,
combined with the complete lack of any evidence (so far as I have been
able to determine) that the elder Moses Carrick was married to a woman
of that name, it is much more likely that it is just a mistake that has
been repeated over and over. Or, do you have evidence for the name of
the elder Moses Carrick's wife?
