As I have recently joined this list, I thought it would be prudent to post
details of my CARRICK interests.
I commenced my genealogy research around 1989 and collected quite a bit of
information up to 1995. For the last 5-6 years I have been fairly dormant
regarding any further research due to pressure of work. However, I am now
trying to pick up the strands again and hope to get fully engaged in the
coming months.
The CARRICK name first appears in my line at the 5th generation when RACHAEL
CARRICK married HENRY MYAS in Skirlaugh, East Yorkshire in 1801. Both
families had agricultural backgrounds and Rachael's family were from
Easington, East Yorkshire. She was born in 1781, the daughter of THOMAS
CARRICK, a yeoman.
As Easington is close to the Spurn peninsula, with sea surrounding much of
the area, I have found that migration from this district has been fairly
limited and the family appear to have resided there for some generations. So
far, I have traced the line back to 1697 in the Easington area. During my
research I have collected quite a number of other CARRICK details from other
parts of Hull & the East Riding of Yorkshire - many of whom are connected.

CARRICK link.
