Here's some more that I discovered recently.
William F. Carrick (born in Indiana Jan 1864 according to the Census records ) married
Elma Rawlings on 20 Nov 1884 in Bayard and was a farmer, children Loretta 1886, Minnie
1888, and Winfred 1899.
His brother Bert also a farmer (born in Indiana Jan. 1866) was married to May Shannon (
b. May 1872 Illinois) children , Earl 1893, Eva 1895 , Lucy 1898.
William and Bert's brother Ray is still a mystery to me.
In the 1920 Bayard census, there is a 74 year old Albert Carrick (born Indiana, parents
in Ohio) married to Ellen 71 (born Vermont as well as her parents) living next door (no
indication of Bert, May, Earl, Eva, or Lucy anymore though)... to William and Elma ( my
grandmother insists the spelling is Alma but all written records indicate Elma). There
were also some relatives in Panora, but I am not sure of names yet. I also know that
Winfred and Gertrude eventually ended up in Des Moines where Winfred worked for the Gas
Company.
Looking through the 1920 census records for Bayard, I also found an Elijah Carrick b.
approx 1868 Indiana , Father from Indiana, Mother from Pennsylvania and , Eugene Carrick
b. approx 1873 Indiana, Father from Indiana, Mother from Pennsylvania, and Otis Carrick b.
approx 1878 Indiana, Father from Indiana, Mother from Pennsylvania. These names didnt
really ring too many bells with my grandmother though she did remember Otis's son
Estle as being a cousin.
