On October 29, 2007 I posted on the CARRELL Rootsweb message board
information about a book which has recently been placed online by
Rootsweb. It might have information about your CARRELL ancestors if
they lived in the western part of Virgina. I think part of that area
might now be a part of WV. My message did not come through the mail
list, probably because it exceeded the size limit for what can come
the mail servers at Rootsweb.
Rather than shorten the message, I decided to just post here the URL
for the Rootsweb message board where I put the message.

The "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia" was
extracted from the Original Court Records of Augusta County 1745-1800
by Lyman Chalkley. (Augusta County was a vast area at that time.)
This was originally published by Mary S. Lockwood in 1912 and
reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. Baltimore, 1965, 1966,
and 1974. Library of Congress Catalogue Card Number 65-15351,
International Standard Book Number 0-8063-0069-8.
In the message board posting I gave the names and page numbers for not
only Carrells but some of the other soundex code names for C640.
Hope some of you find your ancestor.
