I do have a William CARR born between 1794 and 1798 in KY.
He was the son of Matthew CARR (ca 1765 PA - ca 1815 KY) and
Susannah (ca 1765 - ca 1845 KY). They lived in Pulaski Co.
and Lincoln Co., KY.
Hope this helps,

Hello,
I have been reading the messages about the possibility of Native Amer.
blood among the Carr's. My Great-Grandmother was Susan Mary Carr b. 1870
in Woodford Co. KY and m. Hezekiah Roberts/Robards b. 1872 and m. in 1893
in Anderson Co. KY. Granny said she was Indian and that they were "a
mean tribe" and she'd laugh. I got this from my parents. Dad said his
grandmother talked about what tribe or nation and that "it started with a
C but it's not Cherokee", per Dad. I asked repeatedly and he kept saying
he was sure it was not Cherokee. There are many tribes esp. in the
Southeast that start with C. The Carr's in my ancestors denied any
possibility of Indian blood in their kin as they considered it a disgrace
in those long-ago days. They said it must have been in the Chapman side
of Granny's family.
If you are descended from ancestors who lived in the S.E. United States
in those days, it is highly probable that there is Indian blood. I am
particularly interested in the possibility of Mohawk blood in a branch of
the Carr's though, because there is supposed to be Mohawk blood on my
mother's side of the family, also. I never considered Mohawk blood in
the Carr's. I tended to think of them as Southerner.
Thanks for reading this and for the opportunity to air my thoughts on
this.
