Could be identical with Benjamin and Eunice C (Lane) Carr, who lived in

Refer to Edson Carr book, pp 199-200, for further info on Benjamin and his
children.

Benj. ma: a Prescott (Abigail, dau of Jedidiah & Hannah Batchelder
Prescott)and did indeed move to New Sharon. The Cape Cod Hill School
(built in 1993) has a old Cem. (Bowley Corner Cem.) in their back yard.
The kids have worked to clean up the cemetery, cut brush etc.; the
school got a grant and the school and kids worked with a local funeral
home to clean and repair stones that were down. Now they want some help
finding out more about the folks that are buried in the Cem. I am a
local genealogist who had quite a lot of info on both the Folsoms and
the Prescotts - some members of each of these families are buried
there. There is also a Johnnie O, son of Benj M and Pauline E Carr d.
Dec 28 1872. My guess is that he's a grandson of Benj. & Hannah
Prescott Carr. I don't happen to know where Benj & Hannah are buried,
but if they don't have stones in evidence in other New Sharon Cem. (need
to check that) I suspect they are buried in that Bowley Corner Cem. in
one of the graves with stones that are SO old they can't be read. Or in
spots where there are no stones at all.
I have never seen the CARR book you mention. Do you have a copy? Could
you quote me the info out of it? Would you happen to have further info
on Benjamin & Hannah?
Thanks for answering! And THANKS for any help you can be!
And Mrs. Thombs at the school will be very appreciative!!!

Hello:
Benjamin Carr settled in New Sharon, Maine. He may or may not be the person
for whom the Plantation of Carr was originally named - now the town of New
Sharon.
Not sure about actual birthdate, but pre 1800.
