Scott,
I have chased him for years and have not been able to connect
him to the Henry CARR clan of WV. If you have done any research
on the group that came over in 1731, you will find that Crito and
Catherina KAR arrived with Heinrich, Gerig Hendrick, and Christian
KAR. The females were over 16 yo and the males were under 16 yo
and as such did not sign the manifest.
When David CARR of IL had the group traced by Lineages(TM) of
Salt Lake City, they dismissed the fact that there were 3 boys and
said that Crito was actually (Anna Maria) Dorothea HAFFNER-KARR
who was accompanying her sister and brother-in-law to America. They
being Johann and Lucretia WILHEIT. The problem being that she left
Germany with a step daughter--Catharina, and daughters Elisabetha
and Christina and son, Gerig Heinrich. Lineages(TM) ignored the
manifest and said that the brothers, Heinrich and Christian,
were actually the girls, Elisabetha and Christina.
Another researcher has said that Hans Jacob KARR joined his family in
1732
after coming over here on the same ship. I have not been able to verify
that
yet, but we know that he did live on this side of the Atlantic as he was
in
Tulpehocken, PA, about 1740-45. He is supposed to have had to complete
some military obligation before he could set sail. Although I have not
seen or
heard of a marriage for Catherina, Elisabetha was married to John KELLER
13 Dec 1745 in Stouchsburg, Berks Co, PA and Christina was married to
Peter FAEG (probably FËG) on 2 May 1743 in Tulpehocken, Berks Co, PA.
Anyway, the Christian CARR of Montgomery Co, PA, who married Hannah(?)
MILLER in about 1760 has been illusive to me and I have never seen
any children attributed to him although there some in the 1790 census.
I have never been around any good PA records for the tracing. I also am
still looking for any info on that family.
With your name HENDRICKS, am I right in presuming that you are part of
the
WV family of the same name?
To which Archibald CARR are you referring? There are many in the family
of
John CARR, son of Henry CARR/KARR

Hello Everybody,
I have seen in our family info references to a Christian Carr
from Pennsylvania. I was wondering if anybody in Carr Country out there
knows anything about this Christian Kerr (Carr) who appears in
Montgomery County in 1790, in Lancaster in 1800, and in Dauphin County
by 1810. Just wanting to know so I can eliminate him as potential
father of my Archibald Carr whose lineage is ever so elusive.
