MARTIN KERR DIED AT KANSAS CITY
Martin S. Kerr died Monday February 26, 1923 at the home of his niece, Mrs
Richard Lyons of Kansas City.
The body arrived in Bosworth Tuesday evening over the Santa Fe and the
funeral services were held Wednesday ar 2:00 p.m. at the home of his
sister, Mrs Edwin Fields, conducted by Rev. Yetter. The body buried in the
Wharton Cemetery.
The deceased was a son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Kerr and was born in Beaver
County Pennsylvania October 15, 1850, age 72 years, 4 months and 11 days
He came to Missouri in 1870 and was married to Jennie M. McEllfresh, and to
this union a daughter and son were born. His wife and children preceeded
him in death.
He left Bosworth about 25 years ago and since that time he has resided in
Kansas City.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Edwin Fields, Bosworth MIssouri, Mickel
T. Kerr, Custer, South Dakota; Homer M. Kerr, Bosworth Missouri, two half
brothers, William S. Kerr, Twin Falls Idaho and James S. Kerr, Kansas City.
All attended the funeral except William Kerr. Mrs. Ocie Strickland and
daughter Elaine and son Louis and Mrs. Effie Lyons and daughter Thelma
nieces of the deceased of Kansas City also attended the funeral
Martin Kerr resided in Bosworth for years and was kind hearted, a good
neighbor and a useful citizen
