I have an Emma Carr born 1860, dau of Charles Henry Carr, of Potter, NY (Yates
Co). "Edson Carr states that in 1894 Charles and his wife were living in
Plainfield, IA and that they had resided for many years in Minnesota(MN) and
Iowa." The Carr Book, pg 118
I have the following on a Josiah Carr out in that vicinity:
Rilrey(a)aol.com 3/29/96
William H Carr was Rilrey's great-great grandfather.
Subj: Billy Carr--MS
Date: 97-08-05 18:20:26 EDT
From: rilrey(a)seark.net (Deborah J. Rile)
To: Carr-L(a)rootsweb.com
Would like to discuss W.H. (Billy)Carr with someone that knows who his parents
are. The best lead that I have so far is that his dad was Josiah Carr and his
mother was named Mary (what else!) The family history states that Billy came
to Arkansas from Ms after there was a small altercation and he felt like he
would live longer if he left the state.
Sooooooooo---he borrowed a mule and went to Arkansas where he was married
three times and raised a large family in Lincoln County and Drew County
Arkansas.
I would like to prove this theory because I can appreciate a man who knows to
get while the getting is good.
Thanks:)
Debbie
