Hi Pat;
Do you have access to the above mentioned CARR book? In our line we have
a Benjamin CARR, but he would have been born muich earlier, as his daughter
Juliatha was born ca 1733 in Gunnpowder MD. She married William COX in
1755. Unfortunately this is all the info we have. If you have the book,
could you please look and see if this Benjamin and Juliatha are mentioned?
I would more than appreciate it!...Grace

Juliatha CARR was born Ca 1733 in Gunpowder, MD to a Benjamin Carr. She
married William COX in Orange Co, NC on 6 Sep 1755. They were disowned from
the Cane Creek Meeting for their involvement in the Regulator Movement. They
later settled in Montgomery (Grayson) Co, VA. I have no other info going back.
. . .
Any help on Benjamin and Juliatha would be wonderful....Thanks, Grace

Grace,
Benjamin Carr, who you state had a daughter Juliatha, may very well have been
a grandson or other close relation of Walter Carr of Baltimore Co., MD. Walter
was in MD by 1658, and his wife's name was Juliatha. In November 1716,
Benjamin purchased land from Thomas Hooker and had a son named Thomas Carr,
Jr. Thomas Carr was an adult by 1750 and "is probably the Thomas Carr who
moved to the Carolinas" about 1752 or 1753. This information comes from
Baltimore County Families, 1659-1759, by Robert Barnes, 1989, pp. 95-97, 337.
Thomas Hooker named one of his sons Benjamin, and he died c. 1744. There were
connections to the Gist and Lane families, both of which had children who
later migrated to the Carolinas, I believe, if memory serves me.

Does anyone have Juliatha Carr (c.1745) in your records?
Her husband was William Cox (1726). His family came from Eng. to Delaware
and from there some went W to MO. some S to the Carolinas, VA and KY.
Any help greatly appreciated,
