Pat,
I am a descendant of Benjamin Carr through Mary Zerelda Carr, she was my
great-great-grandmother. Most of my Carr information comes from a book
called "Ancestors and Descendants of Amasa Carr" I also have some
information from WFT. I don't know if I can be of any help to you, but
I would like to find out about the Carr discussion group.
You can find information about my ancestors at the FTM Karen Swan
Christiansen User Home Page. Thank you for sharing your information. I
must go now, my 7 month old son woke up and wants my attention.

Karen--
Thanks for the note. I have Mary Z in the database, but no spouse. I'll
check your FTM page for more details. I appreciate the heads up.
I have the following correspondence on Amasa Carr. I'll forward your note to
the group and have Sandra get back in touch with you on the list.

I am a descendant of Robert Carr. He and his brother, Caleb, came to the USA
from England in 1635.
I own a copy of THE CARR BOOK.
My Uncle, Charles Willis Carr, in 1981, published a book entitled "Ancestors
and Descendants of Amasa Carr". I have a copy of the book. I know he donated
a copy to the Mormon Lib in Salt Lake, but I don't know if it has been
microfilmed.
There are about 1500 people in the book. He gives the male line from Amasa
back to the Carrs and Kerrs in Scotland. Then, he has every desc of Amasa he
could find.
Amasa is my GGGrandfather.
I can provide info from either book if you have any interest.

Good morning, Pat.
Here is some info for you from Uncle Charlie's book and some other stuff.
I don't know of anyone who has put Uncle Charlie's data into a data base. I
also use Family Tree Maker. But I have been researching my mother's family
and my data base if full of WESTs. Charlie donated the book to the Mormon Lib
in Salt Lake, but I don't know if it has been microfilmed. When Charlie died,
my brother, Ken, inherited the Stafford Carr family bible. Stafford is our
GGrandfather. I have THE CARR BOOK. I have never seen Edson Carr's book.
Uncle Charlie's book lists the direct line back from Amasa. He then gives all
the descendants he could find. The descendants make up the bulk of the book,
probably there are 1400 of us.
In the book, "For the first three generations in this genealogy, I take the
following from the framed 'Pedigree' of Governor Caleb Carr, that hangs on the
wall of the living room in the old Carr Homestead in Jamestown, R.I."
