Carr, Dickson, Goff, Karr, Kerr, McEwen, Miller
Wm. McEwen b: 1744 s of james & Isabella (miller) McEwen
md: 24 Oct 1779, Sarah Kerr/Karr/carr dau of David Kerr of
Rowan Co, NC David, daniel & Wm. McEwen settled in
Williamson Co, TN in 1798, arriving there before their
mother, their bro. James & sis. Margaret, wife of Gen.
Joseph Dickson. Wm. McEwen was a citizen of KY. on 9 jul
1789, but a citizan of Davidson Co, TN on 10 Sep 1799
(Davidson Co. Deed Book A, p. 344) His wife sarah was a
member of the Pres. Church of Franklin, TN. as early as
1811. After the death of her husband in 1847, Sarah McEwen
went with her son Cyrus, to Oxford, Miss., where she is
buried. Wm.McEwen, his dau, Jane Goff and his son James
are buried on his old home "Springland," 2 miles east of
Franklin, TN. on Spencer's Creek. The settlement of Wm.
McEwen's est. is recorded in Will Book 1819-1825, p. 36,
Williamson Co, TN. Their children were David, Margaret,
Jane, Cyrus, James & Ephraim. Would like the maiden name
of her mother & would like to cor. with des. Sarah was
sis. of Mary Kerr, who md her cousin James
Kerr, 1776, in Rowan Co, NC. James & Mary Kerr, later
settled in Logan Co, KY where he died 13 Mar 1823.
