I live in Charlottesville, so I checked the local Historical Society. There
is not very much written on it, but here are a few facts.
1) First building date unknown...burned down in 1780, and rebuilt.
2) Building is still standing, but possibly modified, as books say "present
structure incorporates building dating from 1780 when original building
burnt.
3) It has been renovated, and was for sale in 1981 with about a 3 acre lot.
4) Located 3.6 miles from Charlottesville, VA on US 250,
5) Recieved recognition in 1824 when LaFayette stopped there on way to
Monticello to visit Jefferson
6) There is a photo showing the house..which is a 2 1/2 story building, with
a central door and one noraml window on either side..and 3 windows on 2nd
floor. On the side that showed, there werre 4-5 windows on each level, I
think, and a small side building, possibly just a porch?
