CARR, HELEN A. (FERRY), 81, died Saturday at her home. She was the
wife of the late Charles F. Carr who pre-deceased her eight days ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Carr were married for 58 years.
Born in Pawtucket and a lifelong resident of the city Mrs. Carr was
the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Annie (Connors) Ferry. She was
a Shipping Supervisor for the former Williams and Anderson Co.
retiring in 1990. Mrs. Carr graduated from St. Raymond's School and
was a member of the Fife & Drum Corp. She was a graduate of the
former Pawtucket West High School Class of 1944 and a member of the
schools swim, basketball, track and badminton teams. She was a
communicant of St. Raymond's Parish and held membership in the St
Raymond's Leisure Group. and volunteered at the St Jean's Food Bank
and later the St. Raymond's Food Bank.
Surviving are two sons: Edward F. Carr of Pawtucket and Thomas H.
Carr of Warwick; two brothers, Edward J. Ferry of Pawtucket and
Thomas G. Ferry of Providence; three sisters; Elizabeth M. Ferry,
Nora McDevitt and Mary Lonergan all of Pawtucket; two grandchildren,
Jason Carr of North Smithfield and Destiny Carr of North Attleboro,
MA. Mrs. Carr was the sister of the late Raymond A. Ferry.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the CHEETHAM
MORTUARY, 1012 Newport Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St Raymond's Church, 1240 North Main St.,
Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 3-7 p.m. In
lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to St. Raymond's
Food Bank in her memory.
