You seem to have the most information on the Carr families...
Thank you for your work and efforts...
Wondering if you might be able to help me track down Lucy
Carr who married Elisha Atwood in 1798 in Bethlehem, CT.
Their children were born in either Woodbury or Watertown,
CT.
I can't locate any other Carrs in the area, your database
has some in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, but none seem
to have any kind of Connecticut connection.
Any thoughts or ideas ?
Brad

Thanks for writing. The best lead I have is a Josiah Carr up in that western
CT neck of the woods in the late 18th century. I have emails from at least
people, one indicating there was a Josiah Carr b abt 1780 with son Henry
Arnold Carr b 1801, the other noting that there was a Josiah Carr with a son
William around the same timeframe, maybe the same Josiah.
Checking my database, I found the following:
I had an Irish Carr family in CT much too late for your line. (Ref John Corby
Carr b abt 1860 Ireland.)
Sidney Carr b abt 1835 is in Litchfield Co CT in 1850 and 1860 censuses. FYI.
Nelson H Carr b 14 May 1848 married in Litchfield Co CT. His family had
origins in NY State in 19th century, and can be traced back to RI in mid 18th
century.
I had no likely Lucy Carrs for a match to yours. The two that were close by
dob were in VA. None with middle initials or middle names were anywhere near
the right dob. I checked all variations I could think of for Lucy -- Lucille,
Lucretia, most any Luc-- name, and found nothing. I also checked Kerr, Karr
and Kaar, with same name variations, and found nothing.
I'm forwarding your inquiry to the other two researchers and to the CARR_L
at Rootsweb. Maybe someone will recognize Lucy and let us know.
I felt good to have some Carrs in the county in question. If you come across
more info on this Carr, I hope you'll remember me sitting here wondering in
NJ. Happy holidays!
Pat Noble
