I am seeking my CARR line. The earliest info I have is this:
After the Rev. War,appx 1780-85, the CARR brothers headed south(maybe from
VA) and stopped in Sampson Co. NC. There one settled and one move on to KY
and the other one left for Alabama.
My direct line is from the one that settled in Sampson Co. NC. I don't know
his name but he died of pneumonia at about age 40-45. He was married to
Sallie(?Sarah)BASS and they had 7 children.
Their children were:
William CARR--moved to Alabama,( maybe to be with his uncle)
Asha CARR---he died as a child
John CARR--moved to Maine
Peggy CARR--married Joshua BASS and stayed near Clinton, NC
*Benagah(?Benjah,?Benjamin) Bass CARR,--- b. abt. 1812, stayed in
Sampson Co. NC, later Johnston Co. NC
Margaret CARR---no info
Uriah CARR---no info
*This one is my g grandfather and I have additional info on him and his two
marriages.
I am trying to make contact with someone who may be connected to one of his
brothers or sisters or uncles and exchange info. I would love to have the
names of these three CARR men who settled in NC, KY and Alabama.
Any suggestions /connections welcome!!

I have a Benajah Carr, born about 1811 in Sampson Co, NC. His wives were
Mary Ryall (m 1865, with son Hannibal H Carr) and Sallie Cobb. I am missing
the original notes for some reason on this info. Hope this gives you a lead.
I checked my database for a match to your names and found nothing.

In my line I have Benajo G. Carr born in Sampson County., NC he was
married to Feribee Jane (not quite sure of correct spelling of first
name, don't have last name). I wonder if your Benajah & my Benajo could
be the same person. Maybe I was given the wrong spelling.

REPLY: Delores,
A couple of thoughts on your recent posting re Carr. Peggy and Margaret
could be the same person -- Peggy is a nickname for Margaret. Could Asha be
Asa? I have a number of Asa hits. I have oodles of Benajah Carrs -- a
common name in that period.
I only have one Uriah Carr in my large database. I checked Family Treemaker's
index and found the following Uriah Carr hits:
Census Indices
Uriah 1850 TN; 1880 TX
Uriah D 1860 IN
Uriah W 1850 MA
Land Records
Uriah 1790-1907 period LA
World Family Tree
Uriah b 1750-1849 period
