Obituary: LORETTA HUNTER, 101, of Highland Avenue, formerly of Royal Crest
Estates, a retired music
teacher, died Saturday at Adams House.
She was the wife of the late Frank Hunter. Born in Fall River, a daughter
of the late John Brayton and
Winifred (Ollis) Carr, she lived in Fall River most of her life.
Mrs. Hunter was a music teacher at Henry Lord Middle School for many years,
retiring in the 1940s. She
received a bachelors degree from the University of San Francisco and had
attended the former Bridgewater
Normal School, now Bridgewater State College.
She was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II and a former member of
the Fall River Womens Club
and the Catholic Womens Club.
She was a communicant of Holy Name Church and a former communicant of
Sacred Heart Church.
Mrs. Hunter enjoyed playing the piano.
She leaves a nephew, Robert Carr of Lynn, Mass.; a niece, Dorothy June
Michaud of Swansea; and several
great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the sister of the late Letticia Mitchell, Frank L. and Jack Carr
and Mary Morel.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Jeffrey E.
Sullivan Funeral Home, 550 Locust St., with a funeral Mass at 10 in Holy
Name Church, Hanover Street.
Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery.
