Greetings:
I am searching for the ancestry of David Carr Lizer, b 26 June 1806 in
Fayette County, KY. Since all trails I've searched for his parents have
deadended so far, I'm throwing this one out there on a wing and a prayer.
David named his children with a clear naming pattern (first son named after
the father's father, second after the mother's father, etc) as is proved by
the names of the children named after his wife's side. Therefore, I'm
conjecturing that David's maternal grandfather might have been named David
Carr. In the 1880 census, David reports that his mother was born in
Virginia. If David was born in 1806, his mother was probably born between
1760 and 1790. Also, as David had 7 sons, the names "John J" and
"Henry" may
have some connection to the family. Evidence points to David's father being
Peter Lizer of MD KY, and PA, but this is unverified.
So, here's the question: Does anyone know of a DAVID CARR who lived in
Virginia between 1760 and 1790? I know it's a long shot, but I thought that
after 15 years of looking for his parents from one direction, I thought I'd
try from the other!
Thanks for your help,
Bret
