Agnes Carr who married Austin Culp is my line. Agnes traveled to KY & then
on to MO with her children after 1810. I have included the will of her
father David Carr which
lists the 4 children.
I have very little information on the rest of her family. I know that they
were members of Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church & that David Carr was an
elder in his church.
David & Margaret came to the U S from Ulster District, Ireland when their
son, Robert, was about 2 years old so that would have been about 1757. David
died in May 1805 I believe that Margaret his wife died in 1825. David and
Margaret Carr are buried in Fishing Creek Cemetery.
There has been confusion regarding Austin Culp who was named after his Uncle
Augustine Culp who also married a woman named Agnes. But the will of David
Carr appointed Thomas Latta and Augustine Kulp executors, which was served
out by Austin Culp proving that Agnes Carr was married to Austin not the
Uncle. The Uncle had moved to Lancaster/Indian Land SC.
I show Robert Carr b. abt 1759, Agnes born after 1759, Elizabeth born abt
1765 & I have no date of birth for Margaret. This is what I have found to
date:
From "Early Records of Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church, Chester
County
South Carolina 1799-1859" by Brent Holcomb and Elmer O. Parker page 4.
In
April 1798 this church gave and invitation to Mr. John B. Davies to labor
amongst them...when Mr. Davies became Pastor of this church its bench of
elders were Samuel Neely, David Carr, David Neely, Thomas Neely, Thomas
Latta to whom were added in 1801 Mr. Hugh Gaston.

Robert Carr entered the Revolutionary War from Augusta Co., VA March 1780 &
served 7
months off and on until March 1781. After the Rev. War he lived in SC until
1830 when he moved to Franklin Co., Indiana and later to Marion Co., Indiana
about 1832. He died 07 Apr 1833 at age 75 in Marion, Indiana. My guess is he
was following one of his children.
