Carol,
The only information I have on the Carr surname in North Carolina has to do
with Robert Carr and Mary Williams.
This scanty information has not been proven.
Robert was the brother of one of my ancestors, William. Their father was
Thomas.
Robert married Mary Williams abt 1735 and had a son, Titus, who ended up in
North Carolina.
Titus was born 1743 in Nansemond, Virginia and died 1787-1843 in Green, NC
and died 1787-1843 in Green NC. He married Winnie Stephenson in 1770. She
was born 1743 in Nansemond VA and died aft 1787 in Green NC.
Two of their children were:
1) Elias Carr b November 1, 1775 in Nansemond, VA and died in Edgecombe NC.
He married Celia Johnston July 27, 1797 who was born May 21, 1770.
2) Titus Carr b February 28, 1788 in Green NC and died February 5, 1837.
I've just gathered that information and not checked it out, at all. I can
give you my sources if you want it.
