Note:
I think that this Peter Carr is one of my ancestors. His father John Carr
was born in Bucks Co, Pa, in 1684,
and died in Loudon Co, Va, in 1794, according to the memorial marker in the
Leesburg Va cemetery put up by his
direct descendant Gen Julian Carr. I visited it with my mother and aunt in
the early 1970s; it gives the names
of all John's sons, and then finishes with 'and many daughters'! So
annoying. Other than longevity and progeny,
his main claim to fame as I recall, was founding Carrtown (now Upperville)
in Fauquier Co, Va.
Anyway, if this is the right Peter, according to our family records, he was
born in 1740 and died in 1812. His
daughter Maria Carr (1804-65) married Daniel Sowers Kerfoot, and they lived
at Montmorenci, a plantation near
Upperville. Their daughter was my great-grandmother Cornelia Maria Kerfoot.
I'm afraid I don't have any other
Carr data, thought I am trying to pick up more.

Abigail --
Thanks for the details. I have a Dorothy Carr of Bucks Co, PA who married
Isaac Ashton in NJ in 1736. I estimate Dorothy's dob as 1710 in my database.
I don't know when John moved south, but Dorothy could be one of the elusive
females mentioned. I also have a James Carr m Mary Calvert, both of Bristol,
PA (Bucks Co) in NJ in 1771. And Cornelius Carr, of Bucks Co, m Jane Brown in
NJ in 1768. Some Quaker Carrs lived in Fallsington, PA (Bucks Co) in the
early to mid 1700s.
