Bloomington (IN) Weekly Courier, April 11, 1911, p. 1.
Johnny Carr, aged 29, for many years connected with the office of the
Wicks Company department store, died at 5:30 last evening at the home of
his sister, Mrs. E. N. Burke, West Third Street. His death was due to
diabetes and covered a period of about one year. Through all his
suffering, Mr. Carr was patient and calm. His death removes one of the
best known young men in Bloomington, a steady, faithful worker, and model
young man.
The deceased was a son of John and Alice Carr, both deceased, and was born
in Bloomington. After graduating from the Bloomington high school twelve
years ago, he entered the Wicks Company store and, until a year ago,
remained an efficient clerk in the office. He was a fourth degree member
of the Knights of Columbus Lodge and also a member of the St. Charles
Catholic Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. E. N. Burke and Miss
Mary Carr, and a brother, Phillip Carr.
Funeral at the St. Charles Catholic Church Friday at ten o'clock in charge
of the Rev. Father M. H. Bogemann and interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
