WILLIAM P. WALSH - Attleboro, MA
WILLIAM P. WALSH, 72, of Evergreen Road, Plainville, Mass., a retired
shipper, died Thursday at home.
He was the husband of Helen L. (Fahey) Walsh, whom he married on Dec. 22,
1951. Born in Cambridge, Mass., on Oct. 7, 1929, a son of the late Clement
L. and Elizabeth (Carr) Walsh, he had resided in Plainville since 1963,
previously living in Quincy, Mass., and the Jamaica Plain section of Boston.
He was employed as a shipper for Robert Allen Fabrics in Mansfield, Mass.,
from 1981 until his retirement in 1997. Previously, he was employed as a
shipper for Stevens Fiske DuPuy in Boston for 27 years.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a communicant of St. Martha's
Church, Plainville. He graduated from high school in Boston.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader and sports enthusiast.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Faille of Plainville;
three sons, Michael P. and William T. Walsh, both of Plainville, and Richard
M. Walsh of Attleboro; two sisters, Ellen "Helen" Gamache and Katherine
Walsh, both of Quincy; a brother, Thomas Walsh of Haverhill, Mass.; six
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral with veterans' honors will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the
Commonwealth Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., North
Attleboro, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Martha's Church,
South Street, Plainville. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery.
