MARGARET F. POIRIER - Woonsocket, RI
MARGARET F. POIRIER, 86, of Cumberland Hill Road, died
yesterday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of
the late Alva W. Poirier. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late
Thomas A. and Sarah (Sugrue) Carr, she had lived in Pawtucket most of
her life, and had lived in South Attleboro and Cumberland for several
years before moving to Woonsocket.
Mrs. Poirier was a communicant of Historic St. Joseph Church, Ashton.
She was a member of the Third Order of Mary, and the Home League of
the Salvation Army.
She leaves two daughters, Marie A. Grzebian of Cumberland and
Christine Poirier of Pawtucket; three sons, Alva F. ``Frank,'' Anthony J.
and Joseph G. Poirier, all of Cumberland; three sisters, Joan C. Walsh in
Florida, Irene C. McVay of Cumberland and Claire C. Simpson of
Pawtucket; and 14 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Earl T.
Carr, Alice Magill, Rose Watkins and Charlotte A. Sutton.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from Bellows-Falso Funeral
Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in
Historic St. Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Rd., Ashton. Burial will be in
Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
